      BARAD SHOW RESULTS

    2017 - 2018

For a number of reasons we havent updated much of our webpage since October 2016. Sim is slowly rectifying that.

We did show in 2017 and have shown in 2018 with some nice wins including - Imy (Ch Barad Imiwzelo) taking out the Toy Group and Runner up Best in Show at the Launceston Royal in 2017.

We will put up more results as Sim finds more time to get photos together.

    7th October 2016

Launceston Royal Show and Tas Toy Show

Before putting up results just want to say we have been showing between Feb and October - just that Sim has not been putting up results.

Sim, Di Wazny and Mon took five of the Barad IG's and two of our Chihuahuas to the Royal Launceston Show and Tasmanian Toy Show. It was a lovely day, tiring but rewarding. We had with us two new IGs and one new handler - Essien, who turned Eight years old today.

Matty - Barad Lomatia won best of breed IG both days and the Runner Up Best of Breed and Bitch Challenge went to new girl Myra, Barad Sugar Muffin in the first show and Misty - Ch Barad Misty Mountain in the second. Misty was handled fantastically by Essien.

Big thanks to the amazing Di Wazny and her hubby for being such a marvelous part of the team.

Ulverstone Kennel Club Championship Shows (AM and PM)

Di Wazny and Renae Foss and took three of the Barad IG's to the two Ulverstone Kennel Club Shows today. It was wet but I am so very proud of both those lovely ladies and the three dogs.

Imy (Ch Barad Imizwelo) was Best of Breed and Junior in Group in the morning and Junior of Breed and Runner Up Bitch Challenge in the afternoon.

Misty (Barad Misty Mountain) who went up by bus in the middle of the week was Reserve Bitch to Imy and Runner Up Best of Breed in the morning and again Runner Up Best of Breed but this time she scored the Bitch Challenge. This means she now has her points for her Australian Championship title.

Matty (Barad Lomatia) won Minor Puppy in Show in the morning and then Minor in Group in the afternoon. What a awesome little bloke he is.
Thanks so much once again Di and Ren for showing these three today and braving the very soggy conditions.

    1 January 2006

Combined Breeds Dog Club Championship Show

First show for the year and first show that we took Marly - Barad Mighty Mars to. We only showed Marly and Misty.

Both did well with Misty being Best of Breed at both AM and PM shows. Marly was runner up Breed and Dog Challenge. Misty was also pulled for a look in Group in the second show.

As Sim went alone and was TCA Rep not many photos were taken.

    24 October 2015

    Royal Hobart Show

We actually have been quite active showing but I have not been putting up results but thought I would for the Royal.

We took 6 Italian Greyhounds, Willy the Tibby and Chickeneekwa the Chihuahua. Di Wazny came down and was fantastic company.

Results - Misty won Bitch Challenge and Matty was Baby of Breed.

The South American judge didnt know Iggies could have any white so didnt even look at Imy despite how gorgeous she is and how well Di showed her.

A fun day with Mum in attendance and friends Pat and Judy with their Iggies made it a good day. Well done to Noelene for her win with Oscar for Best of Breed and Goldie for Runner Up Breed.

Brighton Kennel Club Championship Shows - AM and PMC

Two shows for us today. We brought along two Italian Greyhounds - Titan and Emey; Bailey the Pap and Milly the Frenchy. It was the Italian Greyhounds and Sancia that were the stars today. Sancia won her age division in Junior Handlers, admittedly she was the only one that entered but she and Emey went really well.

Titan, still only just 9 months old was third in the Puppy Sweepstakes in the morning out of 20 entered, Best of Breed Italian, shortlisted to four in both shows in Group and Puppy in Group at both shows. He is really coming along well, moves beautifully and is gaining his confidence at every show. Emey did well too, Runner Up Breed to Titan at both shows, helped Sancia with handlers and was State Bred in Group at the morning show.

Bailey and Milly were their normal happy selves but a Pap won Group at both shows so not our Pap's day. Milly continues to make new friends wherever she goes and did beat the older bitch in the bitch line up in the morning show.

Sancia helped Michael Muldoon with the Pharoahs in the morning and Diva won Best of Breed, Mon got to help Michael with the hounds in the afternooon.

Thanks to Donna and Chantal that helped hold dogs in the afternoon.

We were very happy with how Tunamara Titanium went at his first Tasmanian shows - Emey and Nina are going to have great competition against him as he moves fantastically and once he gains his full confidence we know he will be a little cracker!!!!

All Breeds Kennel Association Inc Championship Show

An early morning start for us with 4 IGs and 3 Tibbies meant we arrived in Westbury in good time. This was lucky as it gave us time to put a Gazebo up to hide from the rain. We were excited to attend this show as Judge for Group 1 was Italian Greyhound breeder Ms Anu Lummevaara.

A good result for the Italian Greyhounds with Jo McCarthy's girl Ivy - Kiannapark Posion Ivy awarded Australian Bred in Group and Janice Heyward's boy Finn - Tanden Fnn Maccool being awarded Junior in Group. Our babies did well too, very proud of how Winnie, Walby and Emey performed with Winnie being awarded Baby of Breed out of the four babies entered.

Sophia was the only adult Tibetan Spaniel but still performed well to take Breed. Both Rosie and Violet were fantastic for their first show, with Rosie taking baby of breed.

Summerfest (AM & PM ) Championship Shows

Another nice long day at the Glenorchy. This was an exciting day for us as it was Walby, Winnie and Evie's first shows. Unfortunately Group 1 was in Ring 4, inside the big noisey shed so the three months old were a little intimidated. Despite this all did ok. Walby beat both his sisters at both shows to take baby puppy of breed. Corky was Runner Up Breed at both shows.

The Tibbies did well with Dora taking out best of breed and Sophia runner up best of breed at both shows.

Teddy - Dog Challenge/ Best of Breed on boths days.

Corky and Bambi - both looked fantastic and were rewarded with Dog Challenge/Best of Breed for Corky on the Sunday and the Bitch Challenge and Runner Up Best of Breed for Bambi also on the Sunday.

Klass and Nikki - Nikki went Best of Breed on the Saturday and Klass secured the Dog Challenge on the Sunday.

Reports are that Chantel, Leone and Noelene all handled really well and helped each other to make sure dogs were ready to go in as required. Makes Sim and Mon think they should leave all the handling to these ladies in future. But no we are needed - there was no one there taking photos was there?

We know the trip down in the ice wasnt something you were looking forward to so we really appreciate you coming and it was lovely catching up with you. Thanks too for all the support you always give all of us at Barad.

    27th February 2011

We took 3 iggies and Claudia - the Saluki and Teddy the Havie up to Longford for the Tasmanian Kennel Club Championship Show. We had all completely overdressed expecting a cold day. Instead it was warm and sunny.

    Results

Not a bad day, best highlight being Teddy taking BOB and Puppy of Group. Foz was DCC and RUBOB. Both Annie and Bambi performed really well, a first in a long time for silly Annie.

Claudia was back after a few shows out, she was BOB. It was a long day and she wanted to stay in the shade but was so well behaved with Sancia for the Group and Puppy Judging.

Another highlight was Mon's time handling an Afghan Hound, check out the photos. Given this was the first time she has even touched an Afghan and it was a very late decison to get Mon into the ring - we think she handled this boy really well!

    12th February 2011

We decided to leave the Saluki and junior handlers at home, the girls electing instead to spend the day on the river Derwent watching the dolphins at play, rather then sitting in the sun for what turned out to be a long and unrewarding day.

We brought - 4 Italian Greyhounds - Foz, Corky, Bambi and Annie; 3 Tibbies - Mia, Ash and Mitty and 1 Havanese - Teddy for the Kennel Club Of Tasmania (South) Inc Championship Show.

    Results

Results were disappointing with only Teddy and Mia doing well - Teddy best of breed and Mia - baby puppy in group. Well done to Mia's owner - the lovely Bev Hamilton - Natebit Kennels in Far North Queensland.

Another positive to come from the day was that Bambi and Leone looked fabulous out there together, this being Bambi's first show for us on her return from South Australia.

It wasnt all doom and gloom really as Foz and Mitty were also ever reliable, moving nicely despite Sim's leg being in an enforced boot on her come back from her broken foot. They both were unlucky we think but do appreciate their efforts to move well, stand quietly and listen to their handlers, unlike some of the other dogs in the ring.

    2nd January 2011

The first shows for the new year were the AM and PM Championship shows at Glenorchy conducted by the Combined Breeds Dog Club of Tasmania. We brought with us 3 iggies - Corky, Foz & Annie; 2 Tibbies - Mia and Ash and our Havie - Teddy.

Results were mixed with the usual ups and downs, perhaps a few more downs then ups this time. Annie won BCC at both shows and Best of Breed at the PM show. Corky was best junior of breed in the AM show. Foz won RUBOB & DCC at the PM show. Mia and Ash each had a turn at winning baby puppy of breed and Teddy won Minor Puppy in Group at the PM show.

A highlight for us all was Chantel's handling of Teddy in the afternoon, for her first effort she did such a great job, helping her boy to take the minor puppy award.

Sancia and Edwina both did great jobs handling the dogs too. Thanks to great friend Leone for allowing Sancia to handle Corky, we think they made a very pretty team.

    Saluki

Claudie was awarded Best of Breed and although she was the only Saluki, she is only just 6 months of age so we are very proud of this achievement. With the support and guidance of breeder Paula, this little pup is gaining confidence and looked sensational in the show ring.

Today we had The Dogfest Championship Show and the Hound Club of Tasmania's Group Show at gorgeous New Norfolk, down by the river with perfect weather. We arrived in good time but soon realised Simone had forgotten to pack a number of things including the canopy, money, dog bowls and coffee cups! Despite this we had a good but long day.

To the Dogfest Show we brought 3 Iggies - Annie, Otto and Foz; 1 Havanese - Teddy; 2 Tibbies - Celia & Scarlett and 1 Saluki - Claudie. To the Hound Show we brought of course our one and only Hound - Claudie.

Klass and Noelene once again put in a great performance with Klass taking out the DCC. Celia was a happy little girl and enjoyed the day.

    16th & 17th October

Leone took Barad Storm Inthe Desert - Corky and Noelene took Tunamara Klass - Klass to the Longford Show Society Championship Show and the Tasmanian Ladies Kennel Club Championship Show. Corky was Best of Breed on both days and Klass was best of breed on the 17th October. Well done ladies, all on a cold miserable weekend too.

    10th October

Today was the Tasmanian Kennel Club Championship Show. We brought back up to Launceston three Iggies - JLo, Annie and Otto, Celia the baby Tibby and Claudie the baby Saluki.

Not a great day for Barad Kennels with no one doing better then in class wins. But we were very happy with Sancia's handling as she tackled all the handling on her own. We were pleased to get to know how both Claudie and Celia would perform after a long hot day as well.

We need to thank Mum and Dad - (Barbara and Adrian Blackman) for babysitting all weekend to allow Sim to spend the weekend in Launceston - thanks heaps.

This afternoon we stayed in Launceston for the Tasmanian Toy Dog Club - 25th Silver Anniversary Championship Show. The Tasmanian Toy Dog Club Committee should be congratulated for putting on such a well ran and enjoyable show. Thanks Rosemary for the lovely lunch and the gorgeous fat free cake.

Once again the Barad Iggies didnt have much sucess but this time it was Jill Mark's pretty - Delco Find the Spirit Gaby that took the Best of Breed. The Watson's boy - TRex did well and secured the DCC and RUBOB.

Otto and Sancia looking pretty for no results this time

Our Niki secured DCC and BOB, with Klass taking RDCC. Well done boys. Celia coped very well with her second show for the day and took baby puppy of breed.

    8th October 2010

We travelled up to Launceston on Thursday night and stayed in a dog friendly mansion to ensure we got to the Royal Launceston Kennel Section Championship Show in plenty of time. We brought with us three Iggies - JLo, Annie and Otto and one Tibby - Celia. We met Steve and Noelene with our boys Klass and Niki and Leone with Corky up there.

The Iggies all looked fantastic out in the ring and tabled very professionally. Yet again we had no great luck with the Iggies. We did get to meet Jill Marks - Oakway Whippets and Pat Logan from Victoria who had come over with a pair of very pretty Berizza dogs - Dixie and Basil.  It was the turn of these pretty visitors to shine.

We had good results with the Tibbies with Tunamara Klass taking the DCC and RUBOB. Both he and his mate Tunamara Niki looked very pretty and were handled fantastically by Steve and Noelene.

    12th September 2010

Our Bob - Clovelly Bobby Whitesoxs attended the Golden Wattle Kennel Club Championship Show in Maryborough, Victoria with Adam Davidson. We are very excited to announce that Bob, Clovelly Bobby Whitesoxs secured a 12 point best of breed.

    4th September 2010

Today was the Brighton Kennel Club Show. To say it was wet is a complete understatement and by the time we had the new gazebo (mark IV) set up and dogs in the trolley all of us were drenched. Coming along we had 4 Italian Greyhounds - the IID siblings Corky, Otto, Foz and Annie, 3 Tibetan Spaniels - new kid on the block Celia Shadowvale As You Like It, Vienna and Mitty. Freya our Havie Hashki Fortunes Not Freyed came along too, her first show as a puppy and it was Claudie Baghdad Biale Nogi, our Saluki's first show, in baby puppy.

It was so wet we took very few photos.

Good friends Tamara Crehan and Patrick Man brought along their two puppies - Lady Barad Pedra Blanca and Darcy - Barad Moriaty Rocks. So all in all a decent turn out for IGs, especially considering the dreadful un-iggy like conditions. Lady took the BCC and Otto DCC and BOB with Corky, ever reliable RUBOB. Not suprisingly we had no success in group.

Edwina with Celia, MItty and Vienna - all still relatively dry!

    Tibetan Spaniels

Little Celia and handler Edwina showed like troopers, ignoring the poor conditions and bucket loads of water all around them. Mitty and Vienna were less impressed with the weather but certainly they far from disgraced us although neither secured any points this time.

    Havie and Saluki

Freya with Eddie did a great job to earn her first points to take out Best of Breed. She was the only Havie but still well done Freya.

Claudie would have much preferred to have been at home snuggled in her bed, but she made a lot of new friends and showed well, moving around the ring sweetly with Sancia. Well done you two at your first show.

Sancia and Claudia - another courageous baby puppy and handler!

    21st & 22nd August 2010

Our Bob - Clovelly Bobby Whitesoxs left Tasmania on Friday the 20th August and returned to Clovelly Kennels to join their strong show team for a few weeks. We are delighted to say he did well at his first two shows, this time up in Horsham. He secured RUBOB at his first show to his brother Aust Ch Clovelly Calvin Klein who went Best in Group and Runner Up Best In Show on the second day.

We want to thank Adam and Robin at Clovelly Kennels for having Bob with them for the next few weeks. We are proud to be associated with the strong Clovelly Kennels.

    8th August 2010

Steve Watson travelled North to Victoria for the Tibetan Spaniel Association of Victoria Inc 2010 Speciality Show which had an entry of close to 100. Steve took with him Tunamara Klass, Tunamara Nikki and Barad Antei Atima. Whilst none of the dogs placed reports have it that all three showed well and Steve enjoyed the trip, even the ferry ride over. Hope you enjoy the rest of the trip Steve and return safely soon Steve.
